Discover the beautiful Ukrainian tradition of Vybiika (вибійка), a centuries-old craft of decorating fabric with hand-carved wooden stamps. Once used to add decorative patterns to traditional clothing and home textiles, this technique brings a unique charm to every piece.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the art of fabric stamping, experiment with different wooden blocks and fabric paints, and learn how to create your own balanced, beautiful patterns. It’s a chance to slow down, get creative, and give fabric a personal touch inspired by Ukrainian folk art. No previous experience is needed — just come ready to try something new and create a piece of your own.
What You Can Create
Choose a cotton tote bag or T-shirt provided with your workshop registration and make it your own with traditional woodblock prints.
Have a favorite piece of clothing you’d love to refresh? Bring it along! A pair of jeans, a shirt, or a jacket can become something special with your own handmade designs. Just make sure your item is made of 100% natural fibers, such as cotton or linen, so the fabric paint adheres properly.
Enjoy a relaxed, creative afternoon at the studio with complimentary tea and cookies while you explore this beautiful traditional craft.
Included: All materials, your choice of tote bag or T-shirt, and tea & cookies.
Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Come spend a creative afternoon with us and leave with something handmade and uniquely yours!
