Bring a lasting memories to your kids!

Our camps are never boring. We also teach kids to be creative, independent, and critical thinkers by giving them open-ended questions and assignments.

General Rules for Camps:

Art Camps are messy fun, put on clothes you don't mind to be soiled.

Bring your own snacks, water bottle, and lunch.

Students can bring a book to read and any personal care products (face covering, hand sanitizer, etc).

You will need to fill out the required paperwork online before the first day of camp, so plan accordingly (check your email for more info 1 day before camp).

All materials are provided unless specified.

We are following all county, CDC guidelines, and requirements concerning the spread of COVID-19.

At this time, Health Officer Order with updated Shelter-in-Place guidelines for Alameda County is published and we have to make some changes to our camps according to it.

 

Once new guidelines to the Camp and Child Care operations will be issued we might be able to accommodate more students. Send us an email if you have any questions.
All camps have a limit of 12 students.

Unit 1

Adventure Camp

June 15 - July 3, 2020

Age 5-12 y.o.

Max 10 students per camp

This is a great adventure for kids 5-12 y.o. Please, bring your own lunch and snack.

Week 1. June 15 - 19, 2020. Castles, Princesses, and Dragons.
We enter the magic world of princesses, knights, and magical creatures! At this camp kids will build a castle, make a crown for a queen, learn how to draw a dragon, and save the princess from the dragon!

Week 2. June 22-26, 2020. Living in a City.

This camp is highly focused on solving engineering problems. Kids will build their own mini-city with all the infrastructure in it. We will also make Police Stations, Candy Shop, roads, bridges, and more. 

Week 3. June 29 - July 3, 2020. Fairies and Pirates

Garden Fairies, Water Fairies, Animal Fairies, how many types of fairies do you know? In this camp, kids will build Fairy houses, and make as many fairies (or gnomes) as they want to populate Fairy Village. Brave pirates will sail the ship across Dangerous Sea looking for the hidden treasures.

Unit 2

Fashion Designs

June 15 - 19, 2020

This is a 1-week camp - June 15-19, 2020. Fashion Designs.

If you were always dreaming to take part in the fashion show – this camp is for you! Design your own collection and show it to your parents! Kids will learn how to sew, how to use the sewing machine, use some fabric-painting techniques to decorate clothes, and create their own accessories. Please, bring your own lunch and snacks. 3 students are minimum. Max 6 students per camp.

Unit 3

Felting for kids/teens

June 29 - July 3, 2020

Age 8-16 y.o.

This is a 1-week camp - June 29 - July 3, 2020. Felting for kids/teens.

Making animals from wool is a fun and very rewarding experience. Learn how to work with wool and silk, make your own jewelry, flowers, and animals using wet and dry felting techniques. No previous experience is necessary.

All materials are provided.

Please, bring your own lunch and snacks. 3 students are minimum for this camp. Max 6 students per camp.

This is a 3-week camp -July 6 - 24, 2020

Week 1. July 6-10, 2020. Summer at Hogwartz.

It’s summer break, but the magic school is still open and full of secrets. Students will have their classes according to the Hogwartz schedule: wand making, charms, potions, and Quidditch practice. Be ready for magical adventures! The camp is inspired by the books by J.K.Rowlings. Same session August 17-21, 2020.

Week 2. July 13-17, 2020. Spies and Detectives.

The detective agency is looking for interns! Detectives will solve some tricky problems, find clues and suspects, and practice to disguise. (You can bring your own mustaches).

Week 3. July 20-24, 2020. Amazing Clay.

Explore the world of clay! Each day students will choose their own theme for the day and depict it using clay and other materials. The students will learn proper techniques to work with clay and will take a lot of projects home. We will work on new projects every day. Projects will include, but not limited to Animal World, Native Arts, Art History, and more. 
No previous experience is necessary. Challenging assignments can be provided to advanced students.

Unit 5

Animation Unit

July 6 - 17, 2020

This is a 2-week camp -July 6 - 17, 2020

Week 1. July 6-10, 2020. Cartooning.

This class will help kids learn the principles of digital drawing and designing cartoon characters. Mastering such tools as iPads and Procreate as well as storytelling basics will give the kids a chance to create stories with their own characters in comics or animation mediums.

Week 2. July 13-17, 2020. Digital Animation. 

This is a camp for those dreaming of making their own animations digitally on iPads. We’ll try different styles and applications, work with music and sound, touch on storytelling principles and character design, all to unleash kids' creativity.

Materials for this camp: iPad with a stylus, install apps: Procreate and Animation Desk. Procreate supports the following iPad models: 12.9-inch iPad Pro (1st, 2nd and 3rd generation) 11-inch iPad Pro. 10.5-inch iPad Pro. 9.7-inch iPad Pro. iPad (5th, 6th and 7th generation) iPad Air 2 / iPad Air 3. iPad mini 4 / iPad mini 5.

Photo Lab

This is a 1-week camp -July 27-31, 2020

This is a great camp for older kids and teens!

Explore the World of Photography with a professional photographer. With a bit of history, theory, and a lot of practice! Learn how to take great outdoor/indoor pictures, learn about professional equipment, and try portrait photography in a studio set up with light and camera. At the end of the week, kids will have their own best images printed. Bring your own camera (any phone with the camera will work) and be Instagram ready. Please, bring your own snacks.

3 students are minimum for this camp. Max 6 students per camp.

Travel Adventure

July 27-August 14, 2020

This is a 3-week camp -July 27 - August 14, 2020.

Week 1. July 27-31, 2020. Paper Wonders.

Kids will learn how to transform paper into toys and artwork,  create marble runs, a group roller coaster, an individual mechanical toy, masks, a shadow theater, and more. Everything will be created by students with minimum adult help, using paper and cardboard. Please, bring your own lunch and snacks.

Week 2. August 3-7, 2020. Time Travel.

During this week of summer camps, we will travel through time and space. Students will have a breakfast in a Cave of Altamira, learn about Ancient Egypt, Renaissance inventions, and Modern Art. We will do a lot of hands-on projects to make Art History interesting for kids.

Week 3. August 10-14, 2020. Art Around the World.

Let's travel around the world together and learn about each country through its art. We will discover some unique countries and regions and complete several original art projects for each region.

Unit 8

Animation Camp

August 3-14, 2020

Age 10+ y.o.

This is a 2-week camp, August 3- 14, 2020 for older kids/teens.

Explore the exciting world of Animation.

Kids and teens will have a chance to try different animation techniques through a series of fun engaging projects including hand-drawn animation on paper and iPad, stop-motion using sand, clay, and LEGO. We will learn proper techniques for character design and development using Digital Drawing and Animation.

We’ll also learn how to edit their animation clips together with sound and music. 

It is better to bring your own iPad with Animation Desk and Procreate installed.

Please, bring your own snacks.

Unit 9

Sewing Camp

August 10-14, 2020

Age 10-16 y.o.

This is a 1-week camp - August 10-14, 2020, for older kids and teens.

Sewing! Sewing! Sewing! with the amazing and patient teacher - Sofiya Ohorodnyk. You will learn how to sew, how to safely use the sewing machine, understand patterns, and create your own wearable items. You will make masks, a bag, and a skirt. All materials provided, however, if you want to bring your own cotton fabric - you are very welcome to do it.

 

Please, bring your own lunch and snacks. 3 students are minimum. Max 6 students per camp.

Summer at Hogwartz
